CHRIS UNGER

Chris Unger loves good food — especially sushi. “If I could, I’d eat it seven days a week.” With a decade of experience in all aspects of working in and managing Bozeman’s most beloved local restaurants, his work ethic and dedication are matched by his inspired yet playful approach to culinary creativity. Raised in a close-knit and hardworking Montana Hi-Line community, Chris’s unique Big Sky Country roots give the restaurant a sense of connection to place and real authenticity of spirit. As a food lover, he loves exploring healthy, sophisticated flavor profiles that sing (like a country crooner.) Detail-oriented and hardworking, Chris cares most of all about creating a delicious, welcoming, and absolutely memorable experience for every single HOOKED Sushi guest. He loves hiking in Montana’s epic landscapes together with his wife, Jessica, their daughter Ada and their golden retriever, Franklin (who smiles for people when he gets excited).

Jon Slye has always been drawn to the full experience of restaurants — discovering new flavors, eating with friends and family, and reveling in the shared experience of the innately “family-style” way sushi is eaten. His introduction to his love for food was born in Seattle’s authentic seafood scene, where fresh, delicious ingredients were always number one. Jon’s love for food culture, paired with his natural entrepreneurial spirit, have led him to create multiple Bozeman restaurants from the ground up. He dreamed of becoming a chef from a young age, learning his grandmother’s wisdom in the home kitchen before diving into work in professional kitchens. His attention to detail and thoughtful approach to management have always made for a happy team and thrilled customers. Jon believes in hard work and play — find him at HOOKED Sushi, or out flyfishing the rivers, soaking up Montana with his wife Kelsey (and baby on the way)!
